A Fifth-Generation Builder in Downtown Bentonville
Crownover Company is a fifth-generation luxury custom home builder with a studio at 240 S Main St Ste 232 in downtown Bentonville. We build ultra-custom homes and private estates in Bentonville, Rogers, Fayetteville, Springdale and across Benton and Washington counties, for a select number of clients each year.
Our family has been building in Arkansas since 1942, when Howard Powell started out digging footings by hand. Five generations later, CEO Lyle Crownover leads the company from two studios, here and in Mountain Home. Both studios work to the same standards and the same process.
Bentonville Studio
What Happens at the Studio
The Bentonville studio is where our Northwest Arkansas projects begin. It is the place to sit down before you buy land or hire an architect, talk through what you want to build, and leave with a realistic picture of what it will take.
A first conversation usually covers the property you are considering, what you need the home to do, and a basic cost range. From there we can help you choose an architect or designer, then work alongside them with cost analysis at every design phase, so the budget reflects the house you actually design.
The studio is a short walk south of the downtown square. Call ahead and we will make sure the right people are there to meet you.

Know the Ground Before You Buy It
The most expensive decisions in a custom home are made before anyone draws a line. These are the questions we look at with every Northwest Arkansas property.
01.
In Town or on Acreage
A lot in or near downtown puts Crystal Bridges, the square and the trail network within walking or riding distance. Acreage in the Benton County countryside brings privacy and room for a guest house, barn or shop, and often a well, an engineered septic system and a long private drive.
02.
Limestone, Chert and Drainage
Much of Benton County sits on limestone and chert. Rock excavation, foundation design and drainage can move a budget more than any finish selection, which is why we prefer to walk a property with you before you commit to it.
03.
City, County or Lakefront
Whether a lot sits inside Bentonville city limits or in unincorporated Benton County changes the permit path, the fees and the utilities available. Frontage on Beaver Lake adds U.S. Army Corps of Engineers shoreline rules, including permits for private docks.

Life in Northwest Arkansas
Why Families Are Choosing Bentonville
Bentonville pairs a small-town square with amenities few towns its size can match. Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Momentary anchor the arts, the Razorback Greenway connects Bentonville with Rogers, Springdale and Fayetteville, and trail systems such as Slaughter Pen and Coler have made the area a destination for mountain biking. Beaver Lake is a short drive east, and Northwest Arkansas National Airport offers nonstop flights to major hubs.
Many people building here are relocating for work, and some of our clients live elsewhere while their home goes up. A dedicated project manager and our client portal, with the schedule, daily progress photos, job logs, selections and budget available around the clock, mean you can follow every step and take part in decisions from wherever you are.

Bentonville, Rogers, Fayetteville and Springdale, and the rest of Benton and Washington counties. If your property is elsewhere in Northwest Arkansas, call us and we will tell you whether it is a fit.
When should I contact a builder?
Before you buy land and before you hire an architect. Early involvement lets us flag site costs, such as rock, drainage, utilities and permits, and keep the design aligned with a realistic budget.
Do you work with my architect?
Yes. We work alongside your architect or designer throughout design, with cost analysis at the schematic design, design development and construction documents stages. If you have not chosen one yet, we can help you find the right fit.
Can I build here while I still live somewhere else?
Yes. Each project has a dedicated project manager and site superintendent, and our client portal gives you the schedule, daily progress photos, job logs, selections and budget around the clock.
